Meet our staff.
Matthew Wahl
Matthew is passionate about selling diamonds and designing one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. He is a Certified Gemologist, a member of the American Gem Society, the Youth Exchange Officer for the Pittsford Rotary and active with youth at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford. Matthew credits his Civil Engineering background to his motto, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Schedule an appointment with Matthew if you are looking for bridal jewelry, a gem consultation, or an Estate/brokerage estimate. Matthew and his wife Susan find great joy in sharing memories throughout the generations. “We are surrounded by love.”
Susan Wahl
Susan loves beauty in nature as much as the beauty in jewelry. She is intuitive and excels in finding the perfect gift for the occasion. Susan has the ability to understand the customer and remembers their purchases so that she can compliment what they have with a new piece of jewelry. Susan has had the good fortune having grown up in the family business that was established by her grandfather, working with fine jewelers on Worth Avenue in Florida, and opening up Forsythe Jewelers South, in Hilton Head, SC. She enjoys being a member of the Chatterbox, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford working with the youth, gardening, traveling and being around nature.
Ashley Harman
Ashley was thrilled to join the Forsythe Family in 2020 after touring with Broadway and Cirque du Soleil where she met her fiancé, Anders! Coming from a background in technical theatre and design, Ashley has a variety of skillsets that allow her to think outside the box when creating custom creations for clients. She has found designing on a smaller, more detailed scale to be a welcome challenge and her passion. She especially loves re-designing client’s sentimental jewelry, and finding the perfect bridal jewelry. When she is not at work she can be found doing all things outdoors. Her favorite activities include hiking, kayaking, camping, and cross country skiing. She is powered by sun, mountains, ice cream, exploring new places, and good books. Ashley is a Certified Sales Associate though the American Gem Society.
Janice Robinson
Janice Robinson is a 23 year veteran employee at Forsythe’s bringing a total of 27 years of experience to share with our customers. Janice is a Certified Gemologist though the American Gem Society, but is a bench jeweler at heart. She has been ‘playing’ with beads since she was a little girl. If you need to create something new out of something old, size your ring, fix your broken chain, or restring your pearls, she loves to rejuvenate your jewelry to its original glory. Janice also enjoys helping clients find that perfect gift or ‘dressing’ clients in jewelry for a special occasion. Outside of work she is a self-proclaimed soccer mom, involved in volunteer activities for her daughter’s soccer club, and likes to stay active and read.
Linda Cass
Linda has 20 years of experience in the wonderful world of jewelry. She graduated with her master’s degree from Nazareth College in Art Therapy but found her true passion for jewelry making when her son was born and began her journey as a silversmith to be home with him. Linda has been selling her jewelry in the Western NY region at various fine art shows for over 15 years. She joined our team in 2021 and loves helping customers design wearable works of art! Outside of work, Linda enjoys working on her own projects in her metal studio. She also loves spending time with her two teenagers that keep her life full of adventures! Linda is a Certified Sales Associate through the American Gem Society.
Adrienne Fleming
Adrienne is one of our newest members at Forsythe Jewelers and has hit the ground running! Having previously worked in the world of fashion, Adrienne’s sense of style and ability to help others find that certain something special really shines through. Outside of fashion, Adrienne has worked at Yellowstone National Park and most recently as a bartender and events crew member at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY. When she is not at work, she can be found hiking, rooting for the NY Rangers, reading true crime novels, and checking out all the great cafes and restaurants the area has to offer. Adrienne is a Certified Sales Associate though the American Gem Society.
Amanda Honeyman
Amanda’s passion for gems and jewelry began at a young age growing up around a family jewelry business. She loved not only the beauty, but the important sentiment and memories jewelry holds. After working for many years in the film industry and motion picture preservation, she pivoted and turned her passion for jewelry into a new career. She obtained her Graduate Gemologist and Graduate Pearl Degrees from the Gemological Institute of America and has worked as a Staff Gemologist and Quality Assurance Inspector in jewelry within the Greater Seattle Area. Amanda has a particular interest in colored gemstones, as well as vintage and antique jewelry. Outside of work Amanda can be found spending time with her family, antiquing, enjoying live music, and pursuing her continued interest in film history and preservation.
Anders Wahl
Anders had it in his mind that he wanted to join the family business for as long as he could remember. Anders previously travelled with various Cirque du Soleil touring productions as an Assistant Head of Rigging. Anders met his other half while on the road, and was ecstatic that Ashley was willing to make the jump from entertainment to fine jewelry with him in 2020. As he commonly jokes, it’s just one circus, to another! “The decision to follow in my parents’ footsteps has felt so natural, however it has also been an incredible undertaking. Forsythe Jewelers has stood the test of time for nearly 100 years, which is a huge testament to the endless amount of love and hard work the three generations before me have poured into the business. It’s a privilege to be working with, and learning from my parents, Matt and Sue. Ashley and I are honored to be a part of such a great team, and we look forward to continuing the Forsythe Jewelers legacy.” When not at work, Anders can be found adventuring around Rochester with Ashley looking for great hiking trails, new kayak spots, working on his golf swing, or checking out any of the great food and drink scene that Rochester has to offer. Anders is a Certified Sales Associate though the American Gem Society.
Laura Jensen
Laura is the newest member at Forsythe Jewelers and has an eye for all things fashion and beauty. Her experience working as a lingerie designer as well as her time spent mixing up margaritas have primed her to take on many of the services that Forsythe offers. She has both a creative and an analytical side to her, which is promising for an aspiring jewelry designer. She also has an eye for vintage which is reflected in her home, personal style, and jewelry picks. In her time spent outside of work, Laura is very health and vitality focused. She enjoys exploring different forms of physical activity, foods, nature and beauty regimens. There’s always some holistic take on a wellness topic that she can inform you about that will inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Making others feel beautiful inside and out is one of Laura’s many talents and working at Forsythe allows her to do just that.
