Our History
Forsythe Jewelers has been your trusted jeweler for over three generations. Clifton S. Forsythe, a watchmaker, founded the business in Rochester, NY in 1927, originally located in the Four Corners of Downtown Rochester. Barbara (Forsythe) and Richard Rochow purchased the business in 1972. They moved their business into a remodeled caboose, at the Old Depot Restaurant, Pittsford, New York. In 1980 the Rochow’s opened a store on the historic Erie Canal in Pittsford. Susan Rochow-Wahl and her husband Matthew Wahl are now the 3rd generation and present owners of the company.

Forsythe Jewelers has been quietly selling the finest jewelry in the Greater Rochester area since 1927. Three generations of the Forsythe Family have been trusted for diamonds, colored gemstones, repairs, and custom jewelry. Accredited by The American Gem Society (AGS), Forsythe Jewelers has a fully-equipped gem laboratory and two Certified Gemologist on site to show you how to compare diamonds for cut, color, and clarity. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will assist you with your selections of jewelry and gemstones. Think of Forsythe first when you wish to sell your used or inherited jewelry in our Estate case.
